Here's the snippet that sparked this whole quandry:
I think it HAS to be F-Zero. It's fairly well-known that Nintendo was not happy with the quality of F-Zero GX on the GCN and it's arcade counterpart, F-Zero AX(which used the Triforce hardware)- both were developed by SEGA. Why? I have no clue. I thought that, while lacking an online component, GX was actually pretty damned good. Anyway, I just sit here imagining the terra-morphing of ExciteTruck somehow spliced in with a futuristic racer... *drool*

That or maybe a GOOD Starfox, Like the ol' SNES version, or the N-64. I could see either. Both of those games developers have learned a lot over the years. Either way, it's gonna' be some good fun on the Wii.
