I'd love to see some "Stereomud" and more "Slipknot." and WTF!? Where's the "Sevendust?" Okay lesser know band, technically. But they've been around for almost two decades! And they're the best band known to man... (That's deniable, I'm partial, I've known the band personally for a while now. heh.)
Still, good to see that they're keeping up with the demand. Hopefully the quality gets better too. I loved GH3. But "Slayer - Raining Blood" WTF!? Way too hard for a required song. Hopefully they'll fix that little problem. heh.

The only thing that sets off my "not-right-o-meter" is that there seems to be waaaay too many Aerosmith songs rumored for GHIV(I'll refer to it from now on as GH4- lol) if the news is true of an Aerosmith-only edition of GH. Wonder if someone got their rumors crossed?

Yeah. I'm assuming that if that list is, in any way accurate, the doubles and triples from a single band are simply considerations. They may have not decided on what song from the band they're going to use. But the list is most likely only 10% - 30% accurate.

Here's a new rumored track listing for GH:WT. I'm not sure how accurate this one is either, but it's waaaaaay different than the original one in this thread. From wii.qj.net:

Great. Another Guitar Hero and yet another playlist without a Collective Soul song. No doubt it will still be good, but I want my CS fix. In the mean time, I hope this doesn't suck and at least does what it promises: Guitar Rising

I'm actually surprised at the sheer breadth of what's listed there, to tell the truth. There are a ton of songs on that list. Now, my question would be, are these all planned to be included in the retail disc the day it ships or are some going to be DLC? It sure seems like a lot when you factor in each instrument track for each one of the songs above. I dunno, maybe I'm just thinking about it too much. The other thing I've been pondering on is, should I sell my GH3/guitar for my Wii for $50 and buy a wireless PS3 one, then be set for GH4 on the Sony? Decisions, decisions...

Hmm... Personally, I loved the design and feel of the Wii version. And although I would like to get DLC for the Wii, I don't mind that much if they don't have it. (realistically speaking) Although, I would like to see the Wii join in on the DLC fun.
The Wii guitar just fel sturdier, more "solid". Especially after picking up one of those 360 pieces of crap once. (lol) Atleast you couldn't stick safety pins through the face of the Wii version. (true story)

After hearing (and seeing) what the new drum set for the the new Rock Band will be... I'm a little bummed at the GH4 version. I mean, the RB version will be a *full* base set.
So far, rumored to include: 4 Heads, 2 Symbols and 2, count 'em, *2* base pedals.
Although, so far, the GH franchise has been a more solid buy than the Rock Band one, that does sound sweet. Which is probably why they waited for Red Octane to announce their version of the drums. Harmonix will be fighting for every inch they can get over the well established Red Octane. Get ready to see a *lot* of innovation in music games between the two of these guys. But... be ready to take a hit in the wallet too. At least for the majority of "the early part of the war".

First of all, I am SO glad there even exists a guitar hero and rockband (especially the drums, mwah ha ha ha)! I'm disabled and can't play my guitar anymore, and have not been able to play drums for years because it physically hurts me. Granted I can't play for hours on these, but I can rock out like anyone else and I have a blast. Music-wise, I absolutely love some of the songs, and hate some. I think they were trying to be as diverse as possible (I have noticed everything from hardcore, to barely-heard-of, to punk, to most of the really popular "rock" songs). I demand Collective Soul and Sevendust as well though! Really, CS has had so many popular songs, of varying "hardness", that would be perfect for any of these games. Can't believe they don't have those. I just got a chance to use the rockband (DRUMS!) really for the first time, and being incredibly sheltered (husband will agree) I've never heard most of the songs - which apparently even people under rocks have loved for years. But I was pleasantly surprised, and now want to download most of them. I love how the guitar hero's and rockband have tried to make sure chicks are a big part of the bands (and playlists), even though there's not too many mixed bands out there, and the chick ones aren't the most popular. (Name an all-chick band in the same genre as Aerosmith and just as popular... especially in this country. Yeah.) Not on a feminist-trip here, but I do enjoy being able to punk my chick out and rock with the boys. I was in a real band with all guys after all, and as the only chick there, it was hard to be taken seriously when I like to rock as much as the rest of them. Sheltered or no. Can't wait for new rockband pieces, though I have trouble being coordinated on the regular one. Little bit scared. Should be fun though. If you've played real drums before, I think the more complex one will feel a little more natural. And note: husband (Scotsman) will always demand the hardest hardcore, no matter what. Darling be happy there's slipknot on there at all. LOL.

Heh... ;D Anyway, I've already made up my mind on GH:WT. Even though I've had a lot of fun on Rock Band with the fellas, Harmonix just turned me off with their crappy peripherals. I'd rather spend $180 on something that I know I'm not going to have to take apart and rig 6-7 times before it breaks for good. And, someone finally put some damned System of a Down in a guitar game- what a novel idea!!

And, someone finally put some damned System of a Down in a guitar game- what a novel idea!! Well said. Harmonix just turned me off with their crappy peripherals. About the Harmonix rant. With what I've seen from a *VERY* weathered set (corpsemaker's set, actually) it's held up really well. So to you I say: "What choo talking 'bout willace!?" And note: husband (Scotsman) will always demand the hardest hardcore, no matter what. Darling be happy there's slipknot on there at all. LOL. And yes. The harder the better. I have to admit that I was more than disturbingly giddy when I saw Slipknot in the GH3 track list. So, thank you to the lovely wife (pyro) for the reminder. Ahh...good times. Good times.
