We are planning new forums for The Gamesmen, but we want to make sure that we get YOUR input into where we go from here. The JSS forums are pretty much a ghost town nowadays, so maybe it's time for a transition to be made. We want as many of you to make the move with us as possible. Also we need to know if this is going to be the natural progression of things. Please help by voting in the poll. Thank you.

i say nay to closing, for a few reasons that i don't feel like typing out. it really depends on what your planning with the other boards that will sway me.

I will migrate, though don't expect much more out of me than what you guys are already used to. Sorry, but I don't speak up much and since life kicked in I have lost my passion for gaming.
I'll go with what I chose but will expand upon some things also. I think The Gamesmen podcasts are decent and an interesting change that, so far, seems to be for the better. With that said, I believe that evolution of things is important. I'm so very against those who want to continually dwell in the past AND are the type that say "It worked for XX years so far and that's why we're sticking to it." - refusing any change. I do agree that it's somewhat of a ghost town around here anymore, except for the random surges in activity that are few and far between, also. For that reason alone, aside from new ideas and such, it is good to try and take things in a different direction.
See here's my only thing, and maybe I'm just dwelling on a minor detail that isn't even the slightest bit of a concern to anyone. Much like at my job where, for years, we've been trying to migrate from 2D CAD drawings to 3D CAD models and drawings, "legacy" data is always a concern. It may or may not be in this case, but I'd still like to bring it up just to get everyone to ponder the idea. Have you ever perused the boards randomly (or for newbies, curiosity)? Have you ever been talking to someone about something and referenced a post, something mentioned in a post, or a discussion from here? If it happens, good, that means I'm not wasting my time with this, but if that's not a concern to anyone, then I stop there.
If everyone settles on the migration and backs the new stuff (better than how we are now), then shoot for the stars my friends. If what I mentioned is a concern to anyone for the reasons I brought up or others, then I think it's necessary to keep what we have here in tact, reference it and make it known to newbies, but continue evolving in the new direction. The JSS Archives maybe? Promoting the new goods, but also saying "Hey there's a lot more interesting game-related stuff over here..." doesn't hurt in my opinion, and personally gives me some peace of mind.
It just seems more appealing to me to put history in a museum rather than in someone's basement or in the trash. Naw mean?
