I picked up PoP the day after Christmas at GameStop and, to my surprise, the Limited Edition PS3 version was on sale for $40!! It took me a good week to really dig in as I forced myself to finish the Fallout 3 platinum trophy quest I had embarked on. Once I closed that chapter, I must admit I was pretty excited for a new adventure. The game is very open-ended. You can choose to tackle any area from the beginning of the game depending which one of four special powers you choose. Per platforming standard, you unlock new powers by collecting a set amount of Light Seeds. They are activated when Elika heals an area, then it's up to the Prince to collect them. There are four emissaries of the the dark god that you must defeat before you confront him yourself. The control is different from the Sands of Time universe. This time around, there's more leeway to make moves. It's almost like you're 'cuing up' your moves- you hit the button presses in anticipation on the action, which allows for more flowing, uninterrupted travel. The interaction between Elika and the Prince is just superb. Great acting and writing make it that much more believable. The main quest took me about 14-15 hours, then 6 more on a second playthrough to clean up the remaining four trophies. So, for about 22 hours, you can grab yourself a platinum trophy and have one hell of a time doing it.

Nice. I was unsure about the new PoP at first. Seemed like a it was a more "familly friendly" version. With all of the markers telling you the available places to go/things to grab on to. But, now that I've finally gotten a chance to pick up "Mirrors Edge" (Thanks to Tyraney) I saw that that is a nice feature for a game that should feel "free flowing". and it actually made for a better, less frustrating, first time through. Grats on the trophies man! I see 2 plats and 109 trophies. Word.

Hey, thanks! Thank goodness for the ol' PS3 since the PC's been out of commission. Now I'm so far entrenched in trophy craziness that I just wanna play everything with them on the system!
